Densovirus

Densovirus

Densoviruses are Arthropods' parvoviruses. They are small non-enveloped octaedric viruses (19-26 nm), with a 4-6 kb linear single strand DNA genome.
They are divided in 4 entomopathogenic genera living on different insect orders larvae, among them economic or medical interest species (crop pests Lepidoptera, vector mosquitos).

They could be used for biological control.
